Introduction

I began producing small projects, working with the wood from trees I cut down as a tree trimmer. Initially, my goal was to create a globe for my young daughter. I wanted a map for her, and ten years later, masterpieces are unfolding.

Many aspects of the work take place at my studio in Manitou Springs (MAC), which has proven to be a great house of resource in the process. Earth is carved in various mediums: wood, acrylic, stone and metal.
Accuracy is achieved in carving by consulting highly detailed flat maps. A globe can take years to complete. The process is laborious and painstaking, yet the final product is museum fit and unmatched for rarity and excellence!
